What America Believes About Homelessness
Join Invisible People's research team (Mike Dickerson, Mark Horvath, and Barbara Poppe) for an overview of “What America Believes About Homelessness,” Invisible People’s report explaining original survey research aiming to understand public attitudes about homelessness. This will include:
* Unpacking public attitudes about homelessness, including general attitudes, attitudes towards people experiencing homelessness, and homelessness and housing policy.
* Identification of different audience segments within the public based on clustering their homelessness attitudes.
* Review message testing data and recommendations for messaging best practices when addressing the media and the public on homelessness issues.

This session will focus on effective strategies to recognize signs of mental distress and trauma and how to effectively support and engage with individuals through the use of de-escalation techniques.
